Kris joined McCay Duff LLP in May 2019 in the newly formed Chief Operating Officer role.
A graduate of the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, Kris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in addition to his Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Kris started his career with a National accounting firm subsequently departing for industry, gaining experience over a number of progressively more senior finance roles as controller and CFO for private companies in the manufacturing, technology, travel and aviation sectors.
Kris later held senior executive roles as Chief Executive Officer of two large Canadian airlines (Zoom Airlines, First Air) and later as Chief Operating Officer of a medium-sized investment firm. He returned to public practice for several years in a small firm prior to moving his family back to Ottawa and joining McCay Duff LLP.
Kris’s combination of accounting firm background coupled with broad executive and entrepreneurial experience allows him a unique business perspective to assist the firm in tackling strategic projects and driving growth initiatives.
Kris has held volunteer board positions including the Valley Heartland Community Futures Development Corporation and as Finance Chair of the Smiths Falls Golf & Country Club. He is a proud husband and father of two daughters, often found coaching his daughters on the tennis courts or boating on the Big Rideau with his family.
