April Wheeler began her career in public accounting with McCay Duff LLP in 2001 after graduating from Algonquin College with a Professional Accounting Diploma. After joining McCay Duff, she continued her education and obtained an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University and her CGA designation in 2005. As a Senior Manager, in collaboration with the McCay Duff LLP team, she takes on an advisory role with clients to get the best results by helping them understand their financial numbers, manage their finances, and meet their compliance obligations.  

 

April has served as Treasurer on the Board of the Canadian Condominium Institute – Eastern Ontario Chapter. She has also volunteered with the Look Good Feel Better Program for Women Living with Cancer. Currently, April is a Director on the St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa’s Board of Directors and Chair of their Audit and Finance Committee. She is also an online facilitator for Algonquin College, helping to train and mentor the next generation of accounting professionals.

 

April is a Hodophile – “One who loves to travel.” When she is not travelling or planning her next adventure, she enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
