Jason Howarth is the managing partner at McCay Duff LLP, holding overall responsibility for the strategic direction and operation of the firm. He initially joined the firm in 1993 and rejoined the firm in 2002 following several years of experience with a mid-sized firm in Toronto. Jason became a partner in 2007 and was appointed to the role of managing partner in 2017.
Jason maintains a diverse practice serving clients, including legal and other professional services, commercial real estate, credit unions, family-owned businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and fund management.
Jason’s calm demeanour and people-first approach serve him well, whether mentoring the firm’s staff to their full potential or assisting his clients in navigating complex financial transactions. He believes that collaboration is key to providing clients with value through tailored and well-researched solutions, including support for purchase or sales transactions, business advisory services, tax minimization strategies, restructuring, estate, family, and retirement planning. Jason’s pragmatic approach to solving challenging issues and his passion for helping his clients are well respected.
Jason is a graduate of the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University, holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and obtained his CA designation in 1996. Outside the office, Jason has a passion for fitness and outdoor adventure and is a busy father of two boys.
