Jason Howarth is a Partner at McCay Duff LLP with a firm-wide focus on people, culture, and leadership continuity. After serving as Managing Partner from 2017 through 2025, Jason now concentrates on supporting the firm’s leadership team, overseeing succession and development frameworks across the firm.

Jason initially joined McCay Duff LLP in 1993 and rejoined the firm in 2002 following several years of experience with a mid-sized firm in Toronto. He became a partner in 2007 and has since helped guide the firm through a period of strong growth, operational modernization, and improved staff retention and engagement.

Jason maintains a diverse client practice serving legal and other professional services, commercial real estate, family-owned businesses, investment corporations, fund management, and not-for-profit organizations. His work includes business advisory support, tax planning, restructuring, estate and family planning, and long-term financial planning.

Known for his calm demeanour and steady leadership style, Jason is deeply committed to maintaining a positive and sustainable firm culture. He works closely with the firm’s leadership and HR teams to ensure that staff have access to clear development pathways, appropriate mentoring relationships, and the support needed to grow successfully within the firm.

Jason is a graduate of the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and obtained his CA designation in 1996. Outside the office, Jason has a passion for fitness and outdoor adventure and is a busy father of two boys.
